SKIA Wins CES 2024 Innovation Award for AR Education Solution
SKIA announced on the 21st that it has been selected as a recipient of the CES 2024 Innovation Award, one of the highest honors at the world’s largest consumer electronics show, CES. This year, only eight companies worldwide were recognized for their innovations in the virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) category.
SKIA is the first company globally to develop a markerless AR surgical platform for medical use. For CES 2024, the company showcased SKIA_OPD, an AR-based solution that helps educate patients about pathological conditions, surgical procedures, and recovery progress. The solution is currently available in both South Korea and India, providing valuable support in helping patients and their families better understand the progression of diseases and the treatment processes before surgery or therapy.
Lee Jong-myeong, CEO of SKIA, expressed his gratitude, saying, "We are thrilled to have our technology recognized globally. We will continue to innovate, creating safer surgical environments for doctors and providing patients with reliable medical information through augmented reality."
In addition, SKIA recently participated in Expand North Star 2023, a major startup expo held in Dubai in October. The company won the healthcare category in the Supernova Challenge, a high-profile startup pitching contest.
